You have probably wondered how the car you drive impacts your career as a business woman. Well, just as how you dress has a lot to say about your personality and impacts your first impression, your car speaks volumes too.
Most people use the phrase, “you are what you drive,” and there is so much truth in it. One can easily assess your personality through your car, and in return, this will affect how they perceive you.
If we haven’t interacted before, then your car, dress, shoes, etc. are the things that will help me make a first judgment of who you are. And, this will greatly affect how I interact with you afterward.
While it’s not fair, some people won’t take you serious just because of the car you drive.
Does the image you create in line with what I am looking for in a business partner? Do I want to listen to what you are saying? Do I want to buy whatever products you’re selling? These are some of the thoughts that go through people’s minds once they see you stepping out of your car.

History of the Mercedes Benz Company
To start us off, the Mercedes-Benz brand dates back to 1926, and it was called Daimler-Benz. It was founded by Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz, both very well-known automobile pioneers.
Karl Benz came up with the very first gasoline-powered automobile in 1886. On the other hand, in 1889, Gottlieb Daimler, with the help of the other renowned automobile pioneer, Wilhelm Maybach, patented the very first motorcycle followed by an automobile.
There is so much that happened between 1890 and 1926.
Briefly, Daimler, Wilhelm, and Max Duttenhofer founded DMG (Daimler-Motoren-Gesellchaft) in 1890.
1894: Karl Benz came up with the Velocipede, AKA, the Velo.
1896: DMG built the very first truck, purposely for the British Motor Syndicate, Ltd. It had a two-cylinder phoenix engine, had a 1.65 ton cargo capacity, and delivered 4 horsepower.
1900: Daimler died.
1901: DMG released the very first Mercedes.
1906: The Company, Carl Benz $ Son, is born.
1907: Wilhelm leaves DMG to start Maybach Motorenbau, a car manufacturing company, with his sons.
1909: The Board of Management at DMG registered two logos to show the trademarks of the Mercedes brand: a 4-pointed start logo and a 3-pointed star logo.
1912: Karl Benz resigned from Benz & Sons Company, leaving his sons to run it.
1924: The poor economic state resulting from World War 1 forced the two car manufacturing companies, DMG and Benz & Sons, to form a joint venture, Mercedes-Benz brand.
1926:They undertook a full merger to form Daimler-Benz AG, and Karl Benz joins its supervisory board. In the same year at the Berlin Motor Show, the company showcases the first Mercedes-Benz passenger car, and it had the 3-pointed star logo. This was followed by the production of 7,000 cars by 1927.
1929: Karl Benz died on April 4, and Wilhelm Maybach died on December 29.
1931-1936: Mercedes-Benz was among the top automotive manufacturers, and they also build Mercedes-Benz W15, AKA, Typ 170.
1936: The W136 model, the first diesel passenger car, is released. This was followed by the W135 roadster and the W 138 limousine.

However, World War II started after, and production was halted. The war shaped the design of the cars going forward because they had to think about passenger safety, side-impact protection, etc.
Again, Daimler-Benz built military vehicles and engines for the Nazi regime. After the war, most of the company’s assets were used to pay for war reparations, which greatly affected it. Most plants were closed down, leaving just the 4 original plants based in Southern Germany.
However, things started to get better after they received approval from the USA Occupation authorities.
1949: Daimler-Benz AG becomes the leading automotive manufacturer once more.
1951: Crumple zone-series production is launched.
The focus here is on safety, styling, and performance. Crash tests are done on each new model, and this lead to huge sales.
1952: Mercedes-Benz cars start entering the USA market. They make huge sales, especially on the 300SL Gullwing.
1960’s, 1970’s and beyond: The Mercedes-Benz brand grows tremendously, and more models are produced. The SL, Mercedes-AMG, 300SEL 6.3 V8 Saloon, SLC 107 series, G-Class & S-Class series, etc. and more safety features were also incorporated.
1982: Major technological developments happened, such as the 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the 5-arm rear multilink suspension.
Early 90’s: Mercedes-Benz removed harmful CFC chemicals from their vehicles’ air conditioning systems
1992: They introduced the Controller Area Network.
1995: They introduced the ESP (electronic stability program).
1997: They introduced the SmartKey.
1998: Daimler-Benz merged with Chrysler Corporation and changed the name to DaimlerChrysler AG, but the merger lasted for just 9 years.
2002: PRE-SAFE safety system
2007: The Company’s name went back to Daimler AG
2010: driver monitoring system ATTENTION ASSIST
